Male’ Maldives, 22nd April 2022 – IMTM Pvt. Ltd. is proud to declare the registration opening for IMTM 2022. The much-anticipated return to a physical event was announced by the company last month. IMTM is a unique, trailblazing event conducted to actively promote the Maldives as a world-class MICE destination. This is the fifth edition of the annual B2B International Travel and Trade Fair will take place from 7 to 8 September 2022.

This year’s theme, “Adapt and Rethink Tourism for Resilience”, is in line with the hopes of reinvigorating the tourism industry as countries all over the world transition into the endemic phase. IMTM 2022 will be kickstarted by the Sustainable Tourism Forum (STF) on 6 September. IMTM’s STF allows experts from the industry to share experiences and knowledge on sustainable tourism practices geared towards innovation, climate change adaptation and building a resilient Maldivian industry and community. It hopes to contribute to the government’s efforts to achieve SDGs by the target date of 2030.

The IMTM Travel and Trade Fair will be held on 7 and 8 September in Greater Male’ Region. This year, IMTM aims to host over 100 International Buyers from 20 different nations as well as over 800 Trade Visitors’ representatives from resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards and homestays. Suppliers, the support business of the industry, will be participating as Exhibitors. IMTM strives to outdo its performance in the pre-pandemic.

The IMTM 2022 Fair invites International Buyers, accommodation providers (Local Trade Visitors), Exhibitors (local and international) and Partners to register online through the IMTM website www.imtmonline.com. Participation charges are as follows:

  • Local Trade Visitors: USD 250 per company
  • International Buyers: USD 100 per company
  • International Buyers (with accommodation): USD 1250 per company

International Trade Exhibitors and Partners can receive the marketing kit via an email request to [email protected]. IMTM extends a warm welcome to International Hosted Buyers to participate and network with Local Trade Visitors and Partners alike. Registration for the Hosted Buyer Program is also open. IMTM ‘hosts’ these Buyers by sponsoring their accommodation, meals, transfers and creating a bespoke experience so they can meet Local Trade Visitors through pre-arranged appointments.

Additionally, IMTM is incorporating the Golden Year of Tourism celebrations in this year’s fair to mark the 50th anniversary of the tourism industry in the Maldives. IMTM is pleased to invite the first 50 registrations from homestay properties to participate in IMTM 2022 with fees waived off.

IMTM encourages all the tourism industry professionals and properties to come together during this year’s Travel and Trade Fair and strive to revive the industry. This Fair allows participants the unique opportunity to connect with over 800 delegates and professionals, interact actively not only with existing clients but also meet new companies and boost businesses, close deals with new customers and be a part of the Maldives Tourism Industry’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. IMTM believes our combined efforts will bear fruit in revitalising the tourism industry by opening doors to new opportunities and growth.
