After a two year break, Dubai based carrier, Flydubai has announced that the airline is set to resume weekly flights to the Maldives from 27 October onwards.
Flydubai will operate four weekly flights to the Maldives on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The Flight FZ 1569 is scheduled to depart from Terminal Three, Dubai International (DXB) at 10:35 am and the return flight FZ 1570 will depart from Maldives’ Velana International Airport at 23:30 pm (local time).

Including the new flights to the Maldives, Flydubai will be operating flights to a total of 40 destinations across its network in Africa, Central Asia, Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, and the Middle East. The airline initially operated flights to the Maldives between 2013 and 2018. It has been steadily increasing flights since July and continues to operate all-cargo flights and repatriation flights in addition to its published schedule.

Flydubai has implemented precautions measure to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the passengers and flight crews during the travel. It has also introduced a free global cover for COVID-19 related costs for its passengers. The cover is valid for 31 days from the first flight and remains covered even passenger travels to another city. The plan will cover medical expenses up to EUR 150,000 and quarantine costs up to EUR 100 per day for 14 days, once the passenger is diagnosed with COVID-19.
