National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has endorsed the International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) 2020, which is set to be held virtually on the 28th and 29th of October 2020.
Established in 2007, NBAM was formally known as the Liveaboard Association which was later renamed and became a national organization. The association represents the Liveaboards and Boating Business Sector of the Maldives, helping its members to grow their businesses successfully and sustainability. It also helps their clients and operators choose the appropriate company while choosing a cruising vacation in the Maldives. NBAM also raises standards in the industry and by giving guidance on issues from sustainability, environment, and safety and presenting a united voice to the government to ensure the industry get a fair deal.
With the reopening of international borders of Maldives, NBAM together with the Ministry of Tourism, HDC, HPA, and Maldives Police Service established the First PCR Sampling Station in Hulhumale for passengers departing from Safari Vessels. The project was a proactive initiative proposed by NBAM to the Ministry of Tourism and HDC.
IMTM is a B2B international travel and trade fair held in the Maldives. The platform brings together international buyers (Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Destination Management Companies, and PR Companies) from around the world to liaise with the local accommodation providers (Resorts, Hotels, Guesthouses, Liveaboards, Dive Centers, Local Tour Operators, and Travel Agents) of Maldives.
IMTM 2020 is the third of its edition and the first virtual B2B exhibition to be held on the travel and tourism industry in the Maldives. It offers the opportunity to conduct business virtually, equipping stakeholders with a tool to Reconnect, Revive, and Grow the business.
