The three sets of souvenir stamp released in the Benelux countries, to celebrate the 50th Golden Jubilee of tourism in the Maldives has been presented to the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives.
The commemorative plaque including the Belgium stamp set, Netherland stamp set, and Luxenberg’s stamp set with the 50th Golden Jubilee Logo was given to the Ministry of Tourism of the Maldives by the President of Benelux-Maldives Friendship Society and the Honorary Consul of Maldives in Flanders, Belgium Mr. Gerard Huiting.
The stamp sets were released by the Maldives-Benelux Friendship Society in partnership with the Belgium Post Office, the Embassy of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium / the Maldives Mission to the European Union (Brussels, Belgium), and the Ministry of Tourism Maldives. The stamps are now being used in Benelux countries as well as in international postal services.
With the introduction of the Belgium stamp sets on 5th July, the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Ambassador of the Republic of the Maldives to the European Union, His Excellency Hassan Sobir mail posted a special letter to the Minister of Tourism, Maldives stamped with Golden Jubilee Belgium Stamp. This letter was received by the Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom on 15th July 2021 and the news was published in the media.
The Maldives Post Limited is set to release a souvenir and stamp set of their own in February 2022 to celebrate the golden jubilee of tourism in the Maldives. Ministry of Tourism has sent an invite to one of the tourism pioneers, Mr. George Corbin to celebrate this occasion.
