Male’, Maldives, 16th April 2024 – Marriott International Maldives is excited to announce the commencement of recruitment open days and the acceptance of applications for the second cohort of its esteemed Marriott International Maldives Apprenticeship Program. Building upon the resounding success of the inaugural cohort, Marriott International Maldives reaffirms its dedication to nurturing young Maldivian talent and fostering growth within the hospitality industry.
Launched as a pilot project on May 9, 2023, the Marriott International Maldives Apprenticeship Program is a collaboration between Marriott International Maldives, the Maldives Institute of Technology, and the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP), facilitated through the Ministry of Youth Empowerment Information and Arts. This exclusive 10-month program offers aspiring young apprentices in hospitality a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of hospitality while receiving comprehensive training from industry experts. Participants will acquire theoretical knowledge from the Maldives Institute of Technology through the approved curriculum of the Maldives National Skill Development Authority (MNSDA) and undergo on-the-job training at Marriott International Maldives’ portfolio of seven resorts in the Maldives.
The program features a structured curriculum covering various disciplines across departments such as guest services, culinary arts, housekeeping, and front office operations. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a level-3 National Certificate accredited by the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA).

Candidates interested in applying for the Marriott International Maldives Apprenticeship Program must demonstrate a passion for hospitality, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. The program is open to Maldivians aged between 16 to 20 years from all backgrounds, including recent graduates, career changers, and those seeking to embark on a new career in the hospitality sector.
Applications for the second cohort of the program are now open and will be accepted until May 2, 2024. Open days for prospective applicants to learn more about the program and submit their applications will take place at various locations and dates across the Maldives, including Malé, LH. Naifaru, B. Eydhafushi, HA. Dhidhdhoo, HDK. Kulhudhufushi, GN. Fuvamulah, and Addu.
