Male’, Maldives, 05 August 2024 – The Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy has unveiled its impressive roster for the 2024 edition of what is widely regarded as “the world’s most luxurious surfing event.” Joining the esteemed field of competitors are French surfing icon Jeremy Flores, Brazilian standout Jadson Andre, and local favorite Ahmed “Ammaday” Agil, alongside already confirmed stars Carissa Moore, Owen Wright, and Mikey February.

Jeremy Flores, celebrated as the greatest European surfer of all time, will make a highly anticipated appearance. After an illustrious 15-year Championship Tour career, which included two Pipe Masters titles and a notable victory at the Quiksilver Pro France, Flores is excited to finally compete at this prestigious event. “I can’t wait to get to the Maldives for the Four Seasons Surfing Champions Trophy,” Flores shared. “Surfing perfect waves, staying in paradise with my family, are you kidding? This is the dream!”

Jadson Andre, known for his vibrant personality and stellar performance across heavy waves, returns to the Maldives where he last competed in 2009. Andre, who achieved his breakthrough victory at the Santa Catarina Pro, expressed his enthusiasm: “I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing event. I can’t wait to be back with everyone competing and having fun.”

Completing the lineup is Ahmed “Ammaday” Agil, a Maldivian surfer renowned for his tube riding and aerial skills. Agil, who has been a dominant force in Maldivian surfing, is eager to showcase local talent on a global stage. “Competing in the Surfing Champions Trophy is a dream come true,” said Agil. “I get a chance to fly the flag and show the world that Maldivian surfing continues to go from strength-to-strength.”

The event will take place from August 28 to September 5 at the stunning Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. Surfers will compete across a multi-board format, featuring single, twin, and tri-fin surfboards, culminating in a final heat to determine the champion. With US$25,000 in prize money on the line, this year’s competition promises to be as exhilarating as ever.

Didier Jardin, General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, highlighted the event’s growing prestige: “The event’s reputation now precedes it and it’s great to hear how surfing legends can’t wait to compete here. We’re delighted to once again be welcoming an incredible line-up of not-to-be-missed talent.”
