Bert’s journey in hospitality began in 1989 as a chef, and his impressive career has since spanned continents and included prestigious roles in both culinary and management positions.
Bert’s educational background is equally impressive, with an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism and a Master’s Degree in Culinary Arts from the esteemed Steigenberger Hotel School in Germany. His career highlights include serving as Vice President of Global Hotel Operations at Scenic Group in Zurich, General Manager at Sandals Resorts across the Caribbean, and Director/General Manager at Oceania Cruise Lines in Miami. His previous experience as Cluster General Manager in the Maldives further solidifies his deep understanding of diverse hospitality environments and global trends.
Expressing his excitement about the new role, Bert shared, “I am most looking forward to fostering a culture of genuine care and connection with both our guests and team members. Outside of his professional life, Bert is an avid traveler and foodie with a passion for exploring new cultures and culinary experiences. His hobbies include swimming, biking, scuba diving, running, and spending quality time with his family. He also has a keen interest in modern architecture and contemporary design.
