Male’, Maldives, 19 August 2024 – Barceló Hotels and Resorts proudly announces the promotion of Usman Ibrahim to the position of Cluster Director of Housekeeping, recognizing his outstanding contributions and dedication to the hospitality industry.

Usman Ibrahim’s journey in the industry began humbly in 2004 as a speedboat crew member. By 2006, he had shifted to the role of Villa Attendant at Raniya Private Island, marking the start of a stellar career in housekeeping. Over the years, Ibrahim has honed his expertise at several prestigious resorts, including Velaa Private Island, Chaaya Lagoon Hakuraa Huraa, AAA Hotels and Resorts, and Baglioni Maldives.

Ibrahim has been instrumental in the successful pre-opening of seven high-profile resorts: Vilamendhoo, Baglioni, Kandima, Furaveri, Nova, Niyama Private Island, and Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives. His leadership and meticulous attention to detail have been pivotal in establishing and managing top-tier housekeeping operations across these properties.

In addition to his new role, Ibrahim actively contributes to the Maldives Housekeeping Association (MHA) as an executive committee member. His commitment to nurturing the next generation of hospitality professionals is evident through his involvement in various training programs, workshops, and housekeeping competitions organized by MHA. These initiatives provide young talent with the opportunity to develop their skills, gain industry exposure, and drive innovation.

MHA also partners with resorts and educational institutions to offer internship and mentorship programs, equipping students with hands-on experience and guidance from industry veterans. Ibrahim believes that such efforts are essential in building confidence, refining skills, and preparing young professionals for successful careers in housekeeping.
