Male’, Maldives, 25 August 2024 – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), under its Visit Maldives campaign, has kicked off a global initiative titled “Discover Maldives,” a webinar series aimed at enhancing the Maldives’ presence as a leading travel destination and engaging travel trade professionals across the world. This new endeavor is set to provide in-depth knowledge of the Maldives’ diverse tourism offerings, with a focus on tailoring content to specific international markets.

The series was inaugurated on August 21, 2024, with a session dedicated to the French market, targeting around 60-80 travel professionals and trade media representatives. The webinar was conducted in French to ensure seamless communication with local travel agents and tour operators. Prominent industry partners, including Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau, participated in the session, showcasing their unique products, services, and experiences that set the Maldives apart as a premier travel destination.

These webinars are designed to offer valuable insights into the unique features and experiences of the Maldives, providing travel professionals with the tools they need to better market the destination to potential visitors. The series also aims to strengthen existing partnerships while fostering new ones, ensuring that the Maldives remains a top-of-mind choice for global travelers.

MMPRC’s broader objective with the “Discover Maldives” series is to maintain and boost tourist arrivals from both established and emerging markets. The Maldives has seen a substantial increase in visitors from key markets over the past eight months, with China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland leading the way. By continuing to provide valuable information and highlighting the diverse experiences available in the Maldives, MMPRC hopes to attract an even broader audience to the “Sunny Side of Life.”

As the “Discover Maldives” series progresses, it is expected to further cement the Maldives’ reputation as a must-visit destination, while simultaneously creating greater affinity in new and emerging markets.
