The flag carrier of France, AirFrance, has recommenced flights to the Maldives on 19 December 2020.

According to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), they will be operating three weekly flights to the country. Air France was among the renowned airlines operating to several destinations across the globe, but flight operations were halted to the Maldives due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

As per the Ministry of Tourism, 19 airlines have restarted passenger flights to the Maldives, with Emirates airline holding the highest spot, having carried 33,769 passengers since the resumption of flights. Qatar Airways follows closely behind with 316 flight movements and 26,904 passengers. Third, comes Aeroflot, having carried 16,124 passengers on 106 flights.

During the remainder of 2020, 10 additional airlines are set to resume operations to the island nation, and by February 2021, 13 airlines will resume flights to the Maldives.

Air France, stylized as AIRFRANCE, is the flag carrier of France headquartered in Tremblay-en-France. It is a subsidiary of the Air France–KLM Group and a founding member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance.
