The newly implemented agreement between Maldives and Singapore allows travel between the Maldives and Singapore without undergoing mandated quarantine under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTA), effective 16th December 2021.
Ministry of Transport tweeted the official statement today. The decisions were made following the discussions between the Maldivian Transport Ministry, Foreign Ministry, and Health Ministry along with Singapore Transport Ministry.
“All Maldivians who have a digital vaccine certificate issued by the Health Protection Agency can travel on designated VTL flights with proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test,” said the official statement from the Ministry.
Singapore Airlines will start operating flights under the Vaccinated travel lane Scheme to the Maldives as well as Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Turkey starting tomorrow, 16th December 2021.
