Shimhad Ali has been appointed as the Human Resources Manager, Ibrahim Fayaz as the Food and Beverage Manager, and Kadek Darmawati as the Spa Manager. These strategic appointments highlight the resort’s dedication to superior service, guest satisfaction, and employee well-being.
Shimhad Ali – Human Resources Manager
Shimhad Ali joins Sun Siyam Iru Veli with an impressive background in the tourism industry, beginning his career in 2007. Initially a receptionist at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, Shimhad quickly climbed the career ladder, gaining valuable experience in housekeeping and human resources at prestigious establishments such as Four Seasons Resort Maldives and LUX North Male Atoll. With a Bachelor’s degree and extensive HR experience, including his most recent role as Assistant Human Resources Manager at Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island, Shimhad is well-equipped to lead the HR team at Sun Siyam Iru Veli.
Shimhad is committed to fostering a positive work environment. “As an HR Manager, my goal is to create a culture of open communication and continuous learning. Investing in employee wellbeing and growth benefits not only the individuals but also the overall success of the company,” he stated.
Ibrahim Fayaz – Food and Beverage Manager
Ibrahim Fayaz brings over fifteen years of experience in the food and beverage industry to his new role. Beginning his career as a waiter at Bandos Island Resort, Fayaz has held various positions at notable properties including Soneva Gili, Hard Rock Penang, and Como Parrot Cay. Most recently, he served as the F&B Manager at Hurawalhi Island Resort and Kudadoo Private Island, where his leadership earned multiple accolades, including Forbes 5 Star certification for Hurawalhi.

Kadek Darmawati – Spa Manager
Kadek Darmawati’s career in the spa industry is marked by her passion for wellness and dedication to excellence. Starting as a massage therapist in Bali, Darma gained extensive experience in various Maldivian resorts before joining Pullman Maldives Maamutaa. Her vision for the spa at Sun Siyam Iru Veli is to elevate it to a 5-star standard, providing guests with a luxurious and rejuvenating experience.
