Male’, Maldives, 30 July 2024 – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the Maldives’ profile as a premier tourist destination. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed today by MMPRC’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Shiuree, and NHGAM’s Vice President, Ahmed Waheed, during a ceremony at the MMPRC Headquarters.
“We are thrilled to strengthen our collaboration with NHGAM to tap into emerging markets,” said Ibrahim Shiuree. “By working closely with industry partners like NHGAM, we aim to enhance our offerings and attract more travelers to the Maldives.”
The MOU outlines a strategic framework for NHGAM to support MMPRC’s marketing initiatives, including participant recruitment and engagement at key industry events such as the Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2024. The agreement also emphasizes joint efforts to promote the Maldives, support local island tourism, and solidify the country’s status as a leading global tourist destination.
ATF 2024 will mark the first major event under this partnership and is expected to be a pivotal platform for networking, partnership development, and cultural exchange. Coinciding with World Tourism Day, the fair will feature a range of activities, including B2B sessions, B2C opportunities, and various side events that will further highlight the Maldives’ tourism offerings.
MMPRC’s ongoing mission is to elevate the Maldives as a top choice for tourists worldwide. By partnering with NHGAM, MMPRC aims to explore new market segments and increase visitor arrivals, reinforcing the Maldives’ position as the World’s Leading Destination.
This collaboration is set to significantly boost the Maldives’ tourism sector and contribute to its continued growth and global recognition.
