Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and tourism industry partners from the Maldives is participating in TTG Travel Experience 2020, held in Rimini, Italy.
TTG Travel Experience 2020 is the first fair that the Maldives is represented after the reopening of its international borders. The island nation is represented at a 32sqm stand designed colorfully displaying the natural beauty of the destination. The event is scheduled to be held from 14th to 16th of October 2020, and together with MMPRC, representatives from Sun Siyam Resorts and Voyages Maldives are participating in the fair.
“TTG is one of the leading tourism fairs in Italy, and is a gateway to the Italian outbound market. The major objective of participating in this fair is to increase the visibility of the Maldives in the Italian market and to further increase the number of tourist arrivals, in order to achieve the targets for the Italian market. This will also provide many opportunities to showcase the Maldives as a safe destination to travel to, and ensure tourists and travel and tourism professionals that the Maldives remains a safe haven during these unprecedented times.” MMPRC stated in a press release.
MMPRC further stated that the three-day fair is set attracts a large number of visitors from Italy, and industry professionals from the Maldives will be meeting with top travel trade partners and media to further discuss, develop and strengthen the presence of the destination within the Italian market.
In the 2019 edition of the fair, more than 2,131 exhibitors from 90 countries exhibited, attracting more than 44,000 visitors to the fair.
Italy is one of the major markets to the Maldives was ranked as the number one market in terms of tourist arrivals, before the border closure. Furthermore, till March 2020, a total of 52,848 tourists arrived in the Maldives, resulting in an increase of 11.7% compared to the same period of 2019.
