A Permanent VFS Visa Application centre has opened in Male’, Maldives.

The Centre was inaugurated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jörn Rohde and Ambassador of Czech Republic, Milan Hovorka. The initial services of VFS centre includes visa facilitation for those who are travelling to Germany and Czech Republic as their main destination.

At the opening ceremony of the centre, Minister shahid thanked the government of Germany and for their initiation and Czech Republic for their support in the initiation. The minister also reflected on the ties of friendship and corporation between the countries. Moreover both ambassadors expressed that this initiation will further strengthen the tourism and trade between Maldives and their respective countries. 

The establishment of VFS centre in Maldivies will ensure hassle free Schengen visa application for Maldivians. They no longer will have to go through the time-consuming and costly process of applying for the visa through embassies based in Colombo or New Delhi.
