IMTM, Press Release|

Today IMTM Pvt. Ltd. has announced that the company has decided to postpone International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) 2020 from June 2020 to 1st and 2nd September 2020 due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) now which has been categorized as a pandemic by World Health Organization. IMTM has been closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 and assessing whether it is reasonable and realistic to have IMTM 2020 within a few months from now.

The health and safety of the exhibitors, trade visitors, staff and the local community is the top priority after confirmation of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives. The Government of the Maldives and the tourism industry has been diligently working to take effective measures with regard to COVID-19. Due to the escalation of the spread of this virus around the world and after listening to the industry concerns while attending advice from public health authorities regarding travel between impacted countries, IMTM has taken the difficult decision to postpone the event.

This was not an easy decision for IMTM as the travel and trade fair plays an important role to bring together international buyers (Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Destination Management Companies and PR Companies) from around the world to liaise with the accommodation providers (Resorts, Hotels, Guesthouses, Liveaboards, Dive Centers, Local Tour Operators and Travel Agents) of Maldives.
