The Maldives has been nominated in 8 categories at the 27th Annual World Travel Awards. It is one of the most recognized and rewarding excellence in travel and tourism.

The Maldives has become a common household name across the world for its unmatched natural beauty of crystal clear sea, pure white sand beaches and lush green coconut groves. It is known as one of the most well-known tourist destinations, attracting travelers from all over the globe, including numerous VIPs seeking a private getaway, the Maldives possess a vast array of high class, luxury resorts and villas befitting for all, including the family vacationers with little youngsters and newly-weds seeking a relaxing honeymoon experience.

Voting for the Awards is now open and is to run until midnight on 25 October 2020, allowing fans to make sure that their best-loved wins. Votes can be cast via https://www.worldtravelawards.com/vote by both travel professionals and consumers globally, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.

As the Maldives has reopened its borders on 15 July 2020, to welcome back tourists, the Awards will contribute to the steady regrowth of the economy, previously affected by the global pandemic, which has already started to recover by the ongoing rise in success of their largest service sector, the tourism and travel industry. The Maldives has secured multiple awards in various categories over the years including the World’s Leading Airport Resort, World’s Leading Beach Destination, World’s Leading Honeymoon Resort, World’s Most Romantic Resort and World’s Leading Luxury Island Resort in 2019, to name a few.

The island destination had also won the famed Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination award 12 times within the past 16 years.
