Visit Maldives initiates yet another campaign for their “Rediscover Maldives…the sunny side of life” campaign, a digital campaign with Zomato targeting the Middle Eastern Region.

The campaign is to run for two weeks, capitalizing on Zomato’s large audience of 500,000 users to promote the Maldives and encourage potential tourists to visit. Zomato will conduct an ‘Order & Win’ campaign, where users with the highest frequency of orders or highest basket value are qualified for a lucky draw for a trip to the Maldives.

The Indian restaurant aggregator and food delivery start-up provide information, menus, and user-reviews of restaurants as well as food delivery options from partner restaurants in select cities. Extremely popular in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the platform is present in 24 countries as well, and more than 10,000 cities globally, further enabling their vision of better food for people. This campaign would generate more than 3.4 million impressions through the competition and its supporting promotional emails, push notifications, and the brand tiles, ensuring large-scale visibility to the Maldives.

Since borders of the Maldives were reopened on 15 July 2020 to welcome back tourists, many necessary health and safety measures have been adopted by resorts, hotels, and guesthouses, prior to restarting of operations. It allows the safety and wellbeing of not only tourists visiting the Maldives, but local residences as well.

The constant efforts are taken by the travel and tourism industry of Maldives to provide tourists the assurance of safety, and the joint marketing efforts by Visit Maldives and other stakeholders, have placed the Maldives as the World’s Leading Destination at the World Travel Awards 2020.

Visit Maldives continues to carry out numerous marketing campaigns for the ongoing recovery of the Maldives including fairs, webinars, FAM trips, online roadshows, outdoor campaigns, digital media campaigns to name a few.
