The Maldives Border Miles Loyalty Program was launched on 1 January 2021, when the first tourist for the year of the Maldives was welcomed at the Velana International Airport.

Tourists can register on the program and start earning points by traveling to the Maldives from 1st January 2021 onwards. Once a tourist is registered as a member of the program, they will earn points based on the duration of stay, visits to celebrate special occasions, visits on local occasions of the Maldives, frequency of visits, and other aspects. The lucky first visitor, Jochen Paul Karch, was granted the first Maldives Border Miles loyalty card (Aida, Bronze tier) by the Controller General of Maldives, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Hussain, which entitles him to countless benefits and rewards with each border crossing.

This program is a three-tiered loyalty program for tourists. There are three categories in this program; Aida (bronze tier), Antara (silver tier), and Abaarana (gold tier). Each tier will be defined by a set variety of rewards, services, or benefits, which increase in value as members progress. Start enjoying the benefits when you reach Aida. They increase in value as members move up the tiers. Benefits are offered from partners; tourist facilities and business entities providing services to tourists. Exclusive benefits will also be rewarded during immigration clearance and while obtaining defined services from Velana International Airport.

If you are eligible for Maldives Border Miles, you can register and become a member of the program when you submit the Traveler Health Declaration (THD). THD is a mandatory requirement for all travelers traveling to and from the Maldives.

The “Maldives Border Miles” loyalty program is expected to boost tourism considerably as it adds an advantage in promoting the Maldives. Furthermore, it is also a golden opportunity for returning visitors to rediscover the best of Maldives and get the most out of their visit to the sunny side of life.
