National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has endorsed the International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) 2021, which is set to be held virtually on the 21st to 23rd September 2021.

Established in 2007, NBAM was formally known as the Liveaboard Association which was later renamed and became a national organization. The association represents the Liveaboards and Boating Business Sector of the Maldives, helping its members to grow their businesses successfully and sustainability. It also helps their clients and operators choose the appropriate company while choosing a cruising vacation in the Maldives. NBAM also raises standards in the industry and by giving guidance on issues from sustainability, environment, and safety and presenting a united voice to the government to ensure the industry get a fair deal.

With the reopening of international borders of Maldives in July 2020, NBAM together with the Ministry of Tourism, HDC, HPA, and Maldives Police Service initiated the First PCR Sampling Station in Hulhumale for passengers departing from Safari Vessels. The project was a proactive initiative proposed by NBAM to the Ministry of Tourism and HDC.

NBAM also hosts the longest maritime event for the marine industry; Maldives Marine Expo, annually since 2014, featuring many local and international exhibitors involved in marine related businesses.

IMTM 2021 will be held virtually on IMTMair; an in-house event management platform designed to offer user-friendly business opportunities for its participants. This year the platform has also been enhanced with new features to provide more efficient experience. Registration for the Hosted Buyers and Trade Visitors are now open through IMTIM website imtmonline.com. The participants can pay via bank transfers or opt for online payment. There are two registration types first, is the Single User Login for 56 USD and the second is a Multi User Login for 112 USD.

IMTM believes that by coming together during these trying times, the doors will open to new opportunities and growth. Similar to last year, IMTM 2021’s main objective is to equip stakeholders with a tool to Reconnect, Revive, and Grow through mutuality.
