Th. Buruni opens the first-ever guesthouse on the island, Villa Buruni Guesthouse, a luxury Maldivian guesthouse. On 6th January 2022, Villa Buruni opened its doors to the first tourist visitors, a group of five tourists spending 9 nights at the guesthouse.

Th. Buruni is famous for the classical romance story, Dhonhiyala and Ali Fulhu from which the inspiration was taken to design the logo of Villa Buruni Guesthouse. The logo was designed by the famous Maldivian watercolor artist Mrs. Shimna. You can check out more of her work at art by Shimha. Even today you can visit the historical places like the “Kamana beach” and the fields of “Koamas” where much of the story took place.

Travelers will find warmth throughout the guesthouse, including in their rooms, which feature trowel finishes and modern furnishings. If you’re traveling as a family, try booking the family King room, as it has a double bed and comes with 2 extra beds, so everyone can stay comfortable. Every room is composed of a private bathroom with a tub and shower, satellite TV, and a safe.

Villa Buruni offers a number of excursions to the deserted picnic islands located 20 minutes away from Buruni Island. From half-day excursions to snorkeling in the reef where you can swim alongside manta rays and whale sharks, Villa Buruni offers an array of fun in the sun activities. If you are looking for a surfing spot, make sure to book your stay at Villa Buruni during the season from May to October.

The menu includes freshly caught fish, pasta, chicken, fruit, rice desserts as well as local dishes. Get ready to expand your palate at Villa Buruni as they cater to your every request.

Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Hassan Habeeb and the team, as well as the Buruni island community for the step taken towards promoting tourism on the Island.
