Health protection agency has tightened the restrictions for outbound travelers from male effective form 10th January 2022, Monday.

All travelers traveling to islands from Greater Male area must present a PCR test no older than 72 hours and all unvaccinated travelers must undergo 14-day quarantine upon arrival to their destination. After tee quarantine period, travelers are required to undergo PCR testing again and quarantine period will only be dismissed upon receiving a negative Covid test result. All travelers are advised to update their health status and PCR results in the Covid safe portal and all travelers must obtain the relevant documents from the HPA Haalubelun Portal.

An additional announcement released by the Heath Protection Agency stated that, events and ceremonies held with more than 50 people will no longer be permitted until further notice. Events with less than 50 attendees will be allowed if it adheres to the HPA guidelines. These guidelines were imposed due to the increasing number of covid cases in the country with a 5% increase in positive rate.
