Ready to join the first art week at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa

Art at Pullman is an adventure we all share. It connects us, electrifies the atmosphere, reframes our world, energizes our souls. That´s why we are launching the first Art Week event in the Maldives from 14- 20 March 2022.

At Pullman, we’re free from limits, unleashing potential, sparking creativity and inspiring minds through art and nature – that ignites innovation, the trigger that sparks creativity, the flame that lights the way to success.

Meet the artists!

Experience a unique perspective of contemporary art with 3 talented Maldivian artists. Become immersed in exceptional art and design, get ready to participate in daily activities where you will unleash your creativity by painting, drawing or even trying ´nail art´. Come away with the sense of a truly once-in-a- lifetime experience, only available at Pullman Maldives as part of the all inclusive benefits.

Her goal is to make Art more accessible and inclusive to people who have been neglected in this community a voice and a platform for expression to share this passion.

Shimanie´s art is heavily influenced by Maldivian folklores, history, color, and nature. Colour and pattern are also integral to her art where she enjoys using a bright but considered palette for most of her illustrations.

Come and join Shimanie in some of the activities she´ll be doing during the art week:

  • Art therapy for adults & kids
  • Seascapes painting
  • Botanical painting

Meet Rooba!

Rooba has been drawing since she was a little girl and being a creator felt like it was on her soul. However, it wasn´t until she tried a few jobs where she had a 9 to 5 shift – as many people told her she wouldn´t make it as an artist – that she discovered, this was not aligned to who she was. Her style has evolved into different styles and she has been learning and discovering herself in the creative journey. Rooba´s approach to inventing styles is systemically.

At first, she finds inspiration from other artists and then implements their style merged with her own. She practices one style for some time and refines it until she finds another art style to practice and refines again.

In the process, she likes to learn new techniques at different art courses, and combining different variations is how she likes to experiment. This can mean different mediums like acrylic paint, pencil, ink, digital painting to different themes like fantasy, dark art, artistic nudes, landscapes and more.

Her passion and talents took her to London, where some of her paintings were displayed at the London Bomber Gallery along with other international artists.

Come and join Rooba in some of the following activities:

  • Abstract painting
  • Landscape painting
  • Intuitive painting (kids only)

Meet Lujain!

From an early age, Lujain has had interests in different forms of art and creative works. Recently, he came across Mixed Media Arts, which fascinated him, and his journey started in 2019. As a nail artist, his projects contain thousands of screws, which are later painted in Oil color. His passion for this kind of art, dedication, and patience are combined with one of the most iconic parts of the Maldives, the marine life.

One of his most iconic projects, The Survival, has the aim to create awareness for the delicate beauty of our marine life and that we all are equally responsible to create a safe environment to protect them. Let’s all appreciate and protect these beautiful and gentle creatures. The project contains approximately 7000 screws that are hand-painted.

Come and join Lujain in some of the activities and live demonstrations he´ll be doing during the art week.
