Male’, Maldives, 16th May 2022 – Meeru Island Resort & Spa has proudly announced their most recent achievement, the Travelife Gold Award. Travelife is an accommodation sustainability certification that helps improve social, financial and environmental impact. An audit conducted last year found that Meeru met the standard set forth, a testament to its commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism.
Meeru was rewarded as one of the few resorts in the Maldives that has received the Gold Award. In line with keeping a sustainable environment and supporting raising global awareness of various activities to save mother earth, the resort has introduced the guided back of the house “Sustainability Walk”, an informative activity to know more about it as it welcomes visitors to its island home. The resort encourages guests to be a part of this guided tour around the island and scan the QR codes available in the public areas and back of house areas around the resort for easy access to learn more about its projects and their respective impacts. Meeru believes in taking care of the planet and hopes their environmentally-friendly efforts will help make tourists stay with them a lovelier experience.
