Male’, Maldives, 12th March 2023 – Vakkaru Maldives announces the promotion of Ali Almaas to the position of Director of Rooms. Almaas, who previously held the role of Front Office Manager, will join the Executive Committee team and take on additional responsibilities, including overseeing Housekeeping operations.
Since joining Vakkaru in March 2019 as Duty Manager, Almaas has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the private island sanctuary. He has been promoted twice within the Front of House division, where he started as Duty Manager before eventually being promoted to Front Office Manager. He has built a strong front-of-house team while navigating the complex challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with professionalism and dedication. He has earned the respect of his colleagues with his can-do attitude, leadership skills, and commitment to delivering the highest levels of service. Almaas has also guided his team to achieving record- breaking Tripadvisor reviews and ranking, as well as winning several inter-department trophies.
In his new role, Almaas will manage the Front Office, Guest Services, Butler Services, Recreation, Kids Club operations and oversee Housekeeping operations. Almaas has earned the respect of his colleagues with his can-do attitude, leadership skills, and commitment to delivering the highest levels of service.
