Male’ Maldives, 11th October 2023 – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, recently showcased the stunning “Sunny Side of Life” in Paris, France, during IFTM Top Resa 2023. IFTM Top Resa 2023 is a premier tourism event that attracted over 30,000 visitors, encompassing various travel segments, including business, leisure, and MICE. The event took place from October 3rd to 5th, 2023, at Porte de Versailles, Paris.

MMPRC’s active participation in this event, alongside 28 co-exhibitors from the industry, aligns with their strategic focus on the French market. Their goal is to promote unique experiences and segments to surpass pre-pandemic arrival numbers. Throughout the event, MMPRC aimed to bolster the Maldives’ brand presence in the French market, solidifying its position as a top-of-the-mind destination. This platform also facilitated industry partners in showcasing their products and services to the French market, fostering networking and potential collaboration opportunities.

Various engaging activities were organized at their trade show stand, including digital interactive kiosks that allowed visitors to explore Maldives’ tourism products and experiences easily. Additionally, social media amplification and surveys were incorporated to enhance engagement. Attendees had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Maldivian tradition and culture by trying on ‘libaas’ and ‘feyli’ props and sampling local delicacies. MMPRC also distributed press packs at their stand, providing valuable information about the destination and their co-exhibiting partners.

In 2022, the Maldives welcomed a total of 48,341 arrivals from France. In 2023, France holds the 8th position among the top source markets for the Maldives. As of the end of September 2023, over 37,688 travelers from the French market have already visited the Maldives.

MMPRC is committed to strengthening the Maldives’ presence in the French market through a comprehensive marketing approach. They conducted campaigns with prestigious partners like Vogue and Surf Session earlier in the year and plan to participate in upcoming travel trade shows, including ILTM Cannes 2023. These marketing initiatives aim to maintain the Maldives as the most preferred holiday destination in the French market.
