Male’, Maldives, 24th December 2023 – Baa Atoll’s Amilla Maldives invites guests to embrace the holiday spirit with a 12-day carnival-themed celebration highlighted by vibrant feathers.

Incorporating the essence of island culture and the lively energy of carnival, Amilla Maldives kicks off the festivities with relaxed gatherings at Baa Bar and a traditional Maldivian feast at Baazaar featuring Bodu Beru drummers and skilled local craftsmen. The rhythms escalate with Brazilian funk, samba, and lambada dance classes, along with workshops on capoeira, the Brazilian martial art. Families and children can enjoy a variety of activities at the Sultan’s Village Kids’ Club, including Aerial Circus Adventures, a moonlit movie screening of Rio, samba drum circles, fiesta workshops, and ‘Circus in the Sand’ events.

On 23 December, guests can trade carols for coral exploration during a morning snorkelling tour of the resort’s coral garden, followed by an evening Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Christmas Eve features creative cocktails, a festive buffet dinner, and live music performed by the international band Red Tie. Christmas Day promises excitement with a ‘mermaid’ encounter in the main pool after Santa’s arrival in a Rio-inspired sleigh. Baa Bar will host nightly live music and entertainment from 24 December to 2 January to keep the festive spirit alive.

The pinnacle arrives on New Year’s Eve with a vibrant Rio Carnival party and dinner. The resort will dazzle guests with fire performers, stilt walkers, salsa dancers, and a stunning firework display at midnight to herald the new year.
