Male’, Maldives, 22nd January 2024 – Niyama Private Islands Maldives has announced the appointment of Thierry Vergnault as its Executive Chef. In his new role, Thierry takes charge of Food and Beverage operations at Nature’s Playground, overseeing the resort’s 10 restaurants and bars, along with managing regular creative pop-ups and Michelin-starred collaborations.
Hailing from France, Chef Thierry Vergnault brings a background deeply rooted in the traditions of French culinary art. He seamlessly blends traditional cooking techniques and an unwavering commitment to quality with a global flair inspired by his worldly explorations.
Beginning his career at the renowned Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, Thierry has since traveled the globe with stints at Hilton, Marriott, Westin, and Le Meridien, covering diverse culinary landscapes from Russia to the United States and the Caribbean.
Thierry initially joined Minor Hotels in 2021, overseeing F&B operations at its Tivoli hotels in Qatar. Today, he spearheads the culinary vision at Niyama, orchestrating diverse experiences across two islands. These include modern Indian Ocean cuisine on a platform half a kilometer out to sea, the bold flavors of Asia, Latin America, and Africa at Jungle Nest and Tribal, and unique tasting journeys beneath the ocean’s surface at Subsix.
