Male’, Maldives, 24th January 2024 – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), along with 22 industry partners, is promoting the Maldives at its first trade fair for the year, Fitur 2024. This event is being held in Madrid, Spain, from 24th to 28th January 2024. Fitur holds significant importance for tourism professionals and the inbound and outbound markets in Ibero-America.

It provides a platform for industry partners to showcase their unique products, services, and experiences to a vast audience. Participation in the event aligns with MMPRC’s strategies to strengthen the Maldives brand and establish strong connections with travel agents from leading markets in the region. It also offers numerous opportunities to promote the unique experiences available in the Maldives and its tourism products, in relation to the distinctive nature of the destination.

As one of the major fairs held in Spain, Fitur 2024 provides a vast platform to disseminate the latest information about the Maldives and for individual properties to feature their new products and services. The Maldives’ stand at Fitur 2024 reflects aspects of luxury, romance, adventure, surf, and cultural tourism. The overall stand portrays the diverse experiences of the Maldives through visuals and videos showcased on LED screens.

In 2023, Spain was the 9th top source market for the Maldives. The Maldives reached pre-pandemic arrival numbers from Spain last year, contributing significantly to its thriving tourism sector. MMPRC is consistently promoting the destination in the market through various marketing activities. Therefore, participation in events such as the largest travel trade fair in the region, Fitur 2024, holds immense importance for the Maldives, maintaining momentum from the preceding year.
