Male’, Maldives, 22nd February 2024 – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has announced the commencement of participation applications for MATTA 2024, scheduled for Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region from 22nd to 24th March 2024. With limited opportunities available due to space constraints at the event, Visit Maldives aims to spotlight the Maldives as the premier holiday destination in the Southeast Asian market, emphasizing its rich cultural heritage over the three-day affair.

Aligned with strategies to bolster the Maldives brand and destination presence, Visit Maldives intends to engage with key travel trade partners to enhance the impact of the Maldives tourism industry. Participation in MATTA provides an avenue to promote halal tourism, catering to travelers in this specific market segment. Notably, this year’s Maldives stand at the event will feature semi-private meeting tables, replacing traditional counters, along with an array of exciting features.

Recognizing the substantial potential of the Malaysian market, which ranked 26th as a source market with 13,551 arrivals in the previous year, Visit Maldives views participation in MATTA as a prime opportunity to further stimulate arrivals from this region and achieve significant growth.

Tourism industry companies interested in joining Visit Maldives at MATTA 2024 can register via the Members Portal (members.visitmaldives.com) before 1500 hours on Wednesday, 28th February 2024. It is imperative that membership renewal or registration for 2024 is completed to qualify for participation.

This initiative underscores Visit Maldives’ commitment to expanding its reach and showcasing the allure of the Maldives as a top-tier tourist destination, fostering connections and collaborations within the Southeast Asian travel market.
