With a remarkable culinary career spanning over 40 years and a wealth of experience garnered from across the globe, Chef Joachim brings a fresh perspective and innovative dining experiences to the discerning guests of Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas.

Hailing from Germany, Chef Joachim embarked on his culinary journey as a cook in esteemed hotels across Switzerland. His tenure at renowned establishments such as the Hilton in Basel, the Park Hotel in Vitznau, and the Hyatt Hotel in Montreux laid the foundation for his passion for culinary exploration. Over the course of 42 years, Chef Joachim’s quest for gastronomic excellence has taken him to an impressive 93 countries and numerous five-star kitchens worldwide.

Chef Joachim’s illustrious career includes serving as an Executive Chef in prestigious hotel chains such as The Peninsula Hotels, InterContinental, Hilton, Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La, and Hyatt. Notably, he played a pivotal role as the Opening Executive Chef of Anantara Dubai Palm, where he curated signature restaurants and dining experiences in 2013.

Regarded as a trailblazer in the culinary realm, Chef Joachim has spearheaded the opening of multiple award-winning hotels and dozens of restaurants across the Middle East and the Far East. His culinary prowess has graced the palates of prominent figures, including politicians, Hollywood celebrities, and royalty worldwide. Noteworthy among his assignments is his role in catering for esteemed world leaders at the G12 Asian Summit Conference in Busan.

Known for his positive demeanor and boundless passion for culinary innovation, Chef Joachim approaches his new role at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas with zeal. Committed to sharing his wealth of knowledge accumulated from his travels across six continents, he intends to mentor aspiring young cooks while introducing a repertoire of world cuisines to the next generation of gastronomic innovators.
