To garner support and showcase the Maldives’ unparalleled beauty, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is hosting a special Voting Event at Velaanaage ground floor on March 28, 2024, from 9:15 AM to 1:15 PM.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards is recognized as the highest accolade in the travel and tourism industry. Their annual program celebrates excellence across various sectors, with regional ceremonies culminating in a Grand Final. Winning a WTA signifies global recognition and sets a benchmark for hospitality standards.
Over the years, the Maldives has consistently impressed voters and travel experts, securing many coveted Indian Ocean category titles such as Leading Destination, Leading Beach Destination, and Leading Tourist Board. This year, the aim is to reclaim the top position in Indian Ocean tourism. This follows the Maldives being declared WTA’s World’s Leading Destination for the past four years and MMPRC claiming the title of World’s Leading Tourist Board for two consecutive years.
