Male’, Maldives, 28th April 2024 – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with 17 co-exhibitors from the Maldives tourism industry, is excited to announce its participation in promoting the Maldives at the KITF (Kazakhstan International Travel Fair) 2024. Held from April 24 to 26 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, KITF stands as one of Central Asia’s premier tourism events since its inception in 2001. Renowned as the pinnacle event of the sector in Kazakhstan, KITF provides an extensive platform for industry professionals across the region.

MMPRC’s involvement in KITF is strategically aligned with its objectives to reinforce the Maldives’ standing as a top-tier destination. Throughout the fair, MMPRC and its industry partners are dedicated to establishing valuable connections with potential agents and buyers from Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region. This initiative aims to spotlight the unique offerings of the Maldives, showcasing its diverse products, experiences, and segments to attract more visitors.

Embodying the essence of the “Sunny Side of Life,” the Maldives stand at KITF 2024 has been meticulously designed to immerse visitors in the myriad offerings of the archipelago. As a memorable keepsake from the fair, beautiful calligraphy bookmarks, reflecting Maldivian culture, are being offered to attendees. Furthermore, promotional videos are being showcased on LED screens to attract visitors’ attention, ensuring the Maldives maintains its position at the forefront of tourism preferences.

With the Maldives welcoming 68,919 tourists from Russia alone as of April 16, 2024, the CIS region holds significant importance for the Maldives tourism industry, with Russia ranking as the second top source market in 2024 thus far. MMPRC is actively engaging in various marketing activities in the CIS market, including participation in events like the Moscow Dive Show and the planning of several marketing initiatives to further promote the destination in the region. Additionally, a year-long social media campaign is underway to enhance destination awareness and maintain visibility in the market.

Through these concerted efforts, MMPRC aims to solidify the Maldives’ position as the preferred holiday destination among CIS travelers, leveraging the region’s potential to drive tourism growth and diversification.
