Male’, Maldives, 2nd May 2024 – Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, an award-winning destination, has analyzed its data and found that ‘All-inclusive’ stays are currently the most sought-after option. Located on a 15-hectare private island in South Male Atoll, just a 40-minute boat ride from Velana International Airport, the resort has become a favorite among families, couples, and groups over the years. In the first quarter of 2024, 32.19% of total stays were booked as all-inclusive experiences, with the alcohol all-inclusive option showing a remarkable 40.9% growth since January 1st.

Sharon Garrett, Director of Marketing, comments on the growing preference for all-inclusive stays, stating, “Our guests are seeking value, and our all-inclusive dining plan delivers exactly that.”

Regarding the increase in all-inclusive stays and customer behavior, Garrett adds, “We’re not necessarily seeing an increase in alcohol consumption, but many guests enjoy having the convenience of everything being included in their stay. In a remote location like ours, the costs of individual items can add up quickly, and guests appreciate the option to indulge without worrying about additional charges.” She notes that the all-inclusive offering has recently been enhanced to better meet guest expectations.

“As a resort positioned in the mid-market segment, just below the five-star rating, we understand the importance of remaining competitive,” says Garrett. “With travelers increasingly utilizing digital tools to compare offerings, we continuously strive to provide excellent value.”

The resort has recently refreshed its all-inclusive offering, which includes various enhancements such as increased discount privileges at the spa, additional dining options, afternoon tea snacks, ice cream hours, and more.

The refreshed all-inclusive plan at Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives includes:

– Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets at Kandooma Cafe, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant, featuring international and Maldivian cuisines.

– Option for a la carte lunch or dinner at Bokkuraa Coffee Club on the pool deck.

– Afternoon tea snacks and ice cream hour.

– Unlimited drinks, including wines, beers, cocktails, and special coffees from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with the soft option also offering mocktails, smoothies, and milkshakes.

– 20% discount privilege at Kandooma Spa by COMO Shambhala.

– 50% discount privilege on the minibar.

– Welcome drink upon check-in.

– Complimentary non-motorized activities (excluding catamaran).

Following closely behind the all-inclusive option is the half-board option, which includes buffet breakfast and dinner at Kandooma Cafe, accounting for 31.42% of all stays. “Interestingly, less than a quarter of guests, 22.83%, opt for bed and breakfast,” adds Garrett.
