Male’, Maldives, 02 August 2024 – The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has partnered with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NGHAM) to represent the Maldives at the Asian Tourism Fair (ATF-Dhaka) 2024. This collaborative effort is set to enhance tourism development and attract more visitors from the growing Bangladeshi market.
Together, MMPRC, MATATO, and NGHAM will showcase a Maldives stand at ATF-Dhaka, highlighting a variety of offerings from the country’s top resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and tour operators. The stand will emphasize the Maldives’ stunning natural beauty, rich marine biodiversity, and exceptional hospitality, along with promoting local tourism experiences.
“One of the key objectives for MMPRC this year is to explore new markets and segments,” stated Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC. “We believe that MATATO joining MMPRC and NGHAM will enable us to more effectively showcase the Maldives as a preferred holiday destination in the promising Bangladeshi market.”
ATF-Dhaka 2024, set to take place from September 19-21 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a leading platform for industry professionals to network, collaborate, and discover new business opportunities. As Bangladesh is a relatively new market for Maldives tourism, the fair offers a significant opportunity to present the unique attractions of the Maldives and draw more tourists from Bangladesh and the broader South Asian region.
MMPRC’s involvement in ATF-Dhaka is part of its strategic mission to promote the Maldives as a premier tourist destination globally, increase awareness of the destination, and build strong relationships with international travel industry partners. MMPRC remains committed to advancing the Maldives as a leading tourist destination, with participation in ATF-Dhaka marking a key step in expanding its reach into emerging markets.
