Switzerland removes the Maldives from its COVID-19 watchlist, allowing Swiss travelers to travel to the Maldives to enjoy their autumn break quarantine-free in the luxury resorts and hotels.

Starting Thursday, 29 October, Swiss travelers exempted from self-quarantining for 10 days when returning back to Switzerland from the Maldives.

The previous month, Edelweiss, a Swiss leisure airline and the sister company of Swiss International Air Lines, resumed operations to the Maldives as well, with 2 flights a week from Zurich, Switzerland to Male, Maldives directly.

The announcement will contribute to the ongoing recovery of the Maldives’ economy, by increasing tourist arrivals along with many other countries, including Russia, the USA, and the UK.

The Maldives has been welcoming tourists around the world since the reopening of its international borders in July. Prior to arrival, travelers entering the Maldives must provide a negative PCR test, including relevant details such as the name and address of the laboratory that performed the testing, the result of the test, date of testing as well as name and signature of the issuing officer. It must be submitted to Maldives Immigration via its IMUGA platform (imuga.immigration.gov.mv) when filling out the Traveler Health Declaration.
