SilkAir has resumed operations in the Maldives on December 01, 2020, for the holiday season.

Flights will operate twice a week between Changi International Airport in Singapore, and Velana International Airport in the Maldives.
The regional wing of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, commenced flights to the Maldives back in 2015 with 9 weekly landings. The airline previously operated twice weekly between the airports till borders closed in the Maldives in March, due to the pandemic.

The Maldives had reopened borders on 15 July with numerous resorts and guesthouses steadily resuming operations. Tourists traveling to the Maldives are exempted from quarantine but are expected to fill an online health declaration form and submit a negative PCR test, which will remain valid for a maximum of 96 hours before they arrive in the Maldives. The online health declaration form can be obtained here https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd

The Maldives has also introduced the first covid-19 travel insurance, Allied Inbound, which covers medical charges, isolation facility charges, emergency medical transportation charges, and interment charges in the case of a positive result for COVID-19 during their stay in the country.
