For the first time in the 54 year of ITB Berlin’s, the organisors has announced the cancellation of the event due to the rapid spread of Coronavirus.
Mr. Christian Goke, CEO of Messe Berlin Gmbh said that the health and safety of the visitors, exhibitots and employees are a respinsisbility that they take very seriously and with a heavy heart they have come to the terms with ITB Berlin 2020 cancellation. The final decision to cancel the event was made following strong recommendation from the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Economics.
The travel expo was scheduled to be held on 4 I 8 March 2020, with the expectation of 160,000 visitors to attend the event. The concern of the outbreak grew with the spike increase in infected residents from Germany within this week.
