Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the tourism office of the Maldives, has participated in the Deluxe Travel Market Ukraine Edition on 6 October 2020.

The purpose of the event is to brief the travel trade of Ukraine about updated information on the tourist destinations of the world and international guidelines and restrictions on travel, imposed on many countries due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The attendees of the event are the top travel agents and tourism-related companies of the region, that cater to VIP clientele in Ukraine. The also specialise in FIT, MICE and business travel.

“Participating in the Deluxe Travel Market gives the destination an opportunity to present the latest news and updates to the travel guidelines through individual online appointments with the top travel agencies from Ukraine,” MMPRC said, in a statement.

Several marketing campaigns are being held by MMPRC solely focused on Russia. An e-learning platform launched with Profi+Travel, as well as advertising campaigns with 360 TV Channel, Travelata, and Squizz to name a few.

The campaigns targets the Russian audience due to highest arrivals coming from Russia since the Maldives re-opened its borders on July 15. 2065 tourists arrived in Maldives from Russia in September alone. The marketing campaigns have contributed to a steady growth in tourist arrivals from Russia. Another contribution has been from the resumption of Aeroflot, the flag carrier and largest airline of the Russian Federation, thus offering travelers reassurance to travel during the pandemic.

Other campaigns MMPRC has been focusing on include a 6 month campaign with Wedding Sutra to appeal to their audience the attractive locations of the Maldives, a radio campaign targeting the indian market, webinars in China, global campaigns with CNN, campaign with FVW in German-speaking markets, participating in the SATTE GenX exhibition and a campaign with Travel Weekly targeting the UK market.
