The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporations (MMPRC) has participated in the Outbound Travel Roadshow India 2020, which was held virtually on 21 October 2020. 

The touring campaign, which takes place in the Middle East and Southeast Asia as well, provided a virtual platform for their participants to meet B2B buyers from India as well as the global market. It allows attendees to set pre-scheduled meetings with desired buyers to conduct business with, in a one-on-one setting, over the 3-hour duration. Other features included were virtual rooms, where companies conducted product presentations for all the buyers to view at once, for promotional purposes.

After borders reopened on 15 July 2020, Visit Maldives launched the “Rediscover Maldives…the sunny side of life” global campaign to promote the Maldives as a secure tourist destination to travelers, after taking necessary health and safety measures to ensure the well being of guests as well as locals.

Among the numerous marketing campaigns launched by MMPRC, many of the promotions were targeted at India, is one of the major tourist markets to the Maldives. These included media familiarization trips to the Maldives, nationwide radio campaigns, and promotions targeting honeymoon segments in India, advertising the Maldives as an attractive tourist destination.

Other campaigns include partnerships with Tour Operators such as DNATA, outdoor brand visibility campaign in the UK, TTG Rimini travel Fair in Italy, global TV and digital campaign with CNN, Integrated webinar series for tour operators in China, campaigns with FVW Germany and Travel Weekly UK.

With their major contributions in recovering the tourism industry of the Maldives, MMPRC attended many virtual fairs as well including ATM Virtual, SATTE GenX, and PTM Virtual, focusing on different key market regions.
