Male’, Maldives, 20th July 2022 – Villa College has announced applications for its Discover Hospitality Programme is now open for the batch starting in September 2022.
The programme is conducted collaboratively by Villa College and Universal Foundation. Classes will be held at Villa College, one of the most renown and qualified higher education institutions in the Maldives whilst the training will be conducted at Universal resorts. Furthermore, the resort will provide each participant with a monthly allowance of MVR 3,000 for the duration of the course.
This programme was first introduced in 2017 as part of the Universal Foundation’s social responsibility. It seeks to train Maldivian youth interested in the tourism sector and provide them with skills to improve their employment opportunities in field upon completion of the course.
According to Villa College, the course has proven to be very successful in the past years. Approximately over 85% of the students who completed the course are currently employed in the tourism sector. With the programme returning after a two-year break since COVID-19, it is expected that it will see good responses and results once again.
Applications for this year’s batch are open until August 11, 2022. Interested candidates may submit their applications to Villa College or the Head Office reception of Universal Enterprises. Online applications can also be sent to Villa College.
