Male’ Maldives, 28th September 2022 – The UK’s flag carrier, British Airways, is set to resume flight operations to the Maldives in October. The airline will begin with four weekly flights to the destination from 14th October. The flight frequency is expected to increase to daily flights from 30th October onwards, on Boeing 777.

The UK is one of the leading source markets for the Maldives. Currently, the UK ranks 3rd amongst source markets, with a market share of 11.2%. As of 21st September, the island nation welcomed 129,568 travelers from the destination. This number can be expected to increase once British Airways resume flights, bringing in more visitors, especially towards the winter holidays.
