Male’ Maldives, 25th July 2023 ‒ Santan is taking its inflight dining options to new heights with the latest additions to its renowned AirAsia menu, featuring a first-of-its-kind freeze-dried speciality coffee and a delectable Plant-Based Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak.
AirAsia’s guests can now indulge in a unique coffee experience onboard, enjoying the Santan 92′ Signature Blend crafted by Santan’s champion roaster which has earned an impressive 92-point rating from the Coffee Review, the World’s Leading Coffee Guide.
Not an average cup of joe, the Santan 92′ Signature Blend was innovated with Santan’s very own SuperCooling-extraction technology to retain the exquisite taste and aroma of world leading speciality coffee, now taking it from the ground to the sky. Free from additives, the blend surpasses traditional instant coffee and pods, ensuring a perfect cup at any altitude and temperature, perfect to warm up in a cool cabin or over ice as a pick-me-up during any flight.
The speciality coffee also blends seamlessly as a classic Americano, a decadent Caffe Latte, and a flavourful Caffe Mocha which are all available onboard AirAsia and AirAsia X flights. The coffee beans are sourced sustainably from Guatemala, Brazil, and Indonesia, to not only offer exceptional quality and taste but also feed into the airline’s sustainable approach.
In line with this effort, Santan embraces more plant-based options with its new version of Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak. The signature dish with a plant-based twist features a generous serving of wild purple rice, complemented by a flavoursome vegetarian curry crafted with plant-based protein, eggplant, French beans, and potatoes. Topped with onion sambal, crunchy peanuts, and coconut strips, this guilt-free indulgence promises to elevate the dining experience for guests seeking a more sustainable and greener choice.

Santan remains committed to providing the highest quality with exceptional value on the ground and in the air. The specialty coffee and plant-based Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak are priced affordably starting from RM9 a cup and RM16 for a pre-booked meal. Guests are advised to pre-book their meals in advance to ensure availability and priority serving, which can be done up to four hours before the scheduled departure time.
