Male’, Maldives, 16th April 2024 – Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives), in collaboration with six industry partners, recently showcased the captivating underwater landscapes of the Maldives to the Southeast Asia (SEA) market at ADEX Ocean Mission 2024. Held from April 12 to April 14, 2024, at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre, this event marked a significant opportunity to promote the Maldives as a premier dive destination.

ADEX, boasting a 26-year history, stands as Asia’s largest and most enduring dive expo, revered as a “must-attend” event in the industry. Bringing together esteemed VIPs and speakers worldwide, including scientists, marine conservationists, underwater photographers, and videographers, ADEX serves as a pivotal platform for dive operators, equipment manufacturers, and national tourism boards.

For MMPRC, ADEX served as a strategic venue to disseminate the latest destination information and raise awareness of the Maldives’ allure among dive enthusiasts. It provided an avenue to gather market intelligence tailored for the niche segment, allowing a deeper understanding of the sentiments of divers and dive enthusiasts from the Asian and Southeast Asian markets.

Participation in ADEX was part of MMPRC’s ongoing efforts to position the Maldives as the top choice for Southeast Asian travelers, particularly those from Singapore, and to showcase the plethora of diving and underwater experiences available in the Maldives. The event offered an excellent opportunity to engage with potential visitors and highlight the Maldives’ unique offerings.

Among the activities conducted at the Visit Maldives stand were consumer surveys, distribution of informative flashcards about Maldivian marine life, and displays showcasing the diverse dive locations in the Maldives.

Last year, the SEA market attracted a total of 58,947 visitors. From January to February this year, the Maldives welcomed 7,481 tourists from this market segment. To further enhance traveler engagement and maintain destination presence, MMPRC has devised several strategies, including joint marketing campaigns with key stakeholders, outdoor advertising initiatives, participation in fairs, hosting webinars, e-learning programs, and other events.
