Male’, Maldives, 13th April 2022 – Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is pleased to announce the appointment of Janaka Vithana as Director of Engineering at the iconic twin-island resort. The property is part of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, one of Hilton’s (NYSE:HLT) global luxury hotel brands. An experienced Head of Engineering and hospitality expert, Vithana will be responsible for elevating the guest experience whilst upholding the high-quality facilities standard that the resort is renowned for.
With an impressive career spanning 21 years, Janaka’s versatile skillset includes a background in property management, pre-opening, project management and sustainability implementation. Most recently, he was Director of Engineering at One & Only Reethi Rah and prior to this was Director of Engineering for the Huvafen Fushi, Finolhu and Niyama sister resorts in the Maldives. In addition. He has held leading engineering roles in Shangri-La Gold Resort & Spa, Aman Resorts and John Keells hotels in Sri Lanka, as well as Intercontinental properties in Singapore and Maldives.
His proficiency in maintenance management, strategic planning and sustainability implementation in luxury hotels has led him to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. With a strong eye for detail, optimization, budget management and communication, Janaka will supervise and support the team in their constant strive to continuously enhance the guest experience.
