Male’ Maldives, 17th August 2023 – Spain has been ranked among the top 10 source markets contributing to the Maldives’ tourism.
The top 10 tourism source markets include Russia, India, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the United States, France, Switzerland, and Spain.
As per data provided by the Tourism Ministry, the Maldives has welcomed 21,783 visitors from Spain in the current year, positioning the country at the 10th position among the top sources of tourism. With a total of 1.1 million tourists having visited the Maldives thus far this year, Spanish travelers constitute 1.9 percent of the overall tourist influx.
The Maldives has also seen an overall increase of 13.8 percent in total tourist arrivals over the same period last year.
According to the statistics, there are 1,260 tourism facilities currently operating in the Maldives. These include 173 resorts, 912 guesthouses, 162 safaris, and 13 hotels.
