Effective 30th August 2021, The United Arab Emirates will be open and accepting application for tourists’ visas from people of all countries, provided that they are fully inoculated with one of the WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccines.

This new rule was announced jointly by UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) as part of their strategy to revive sustainable and economic growth by creating a balance between the public health and the activities of vital sectors, most importantly boost country’s key sector, tourism.

Passengers arriving on tourist visas must register their vaccination status on the government’s health app ICA platform or Al Hosn application and undergo mandatory PCR rapid testing at the airport, according to WAM. The previous rules for unvaccinated, including exempted categories, remain in place.
