Male’, Maldives, 27th August 2022 – Meet Alila Kothaifaru Maldives’ latest additions to its team of leaders: Jamal Ahmed, Resort Manager, and Riff-ath Fareed, Director of Human Resources.

Resort Manager: Jamal Ahmed

Jamal Ahmed brings with him over 25 years of industry expertise, having worked across a broad range of operations roles with international luxury hotel brands including W Maldives, One & Only Kanuhura, Maldives and Soneva Gili, Maldives.

He will be overseeing many areas of Alila Kothaifaru Maldives in his new role as Resort Manager, from guest accommodation to housekeeping, spa and recreation to the guest services department.

Jamal believes that the most memorable service is delivered genuinely from the heart. It is not just about knowing how to do it well – it is about striving to do it better every day and delighting guests with the authenticity of Maldivian hospitality.

Director of Human Resources: Riff-ath Fareed 

Prior to his appointment as Director of Human Resources, the experienced HR and hospitality specialist Riff-ath Fareed joined the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts family 13 years ago, managing the Human Resources department for the opening of Alila Villas Hadahaa which rebranded as Park Hyatt Hadahaa Maldives. He has been working in the hospitality industry for more than 17 years with various luxury hotel brands in the Maldives, including Anantara Maldives Resort and Spa and Lux Maldives.

An excellent team player and passionate traveler, known for his strong interpersonal skills and creative thinking, Riff-ath will be helming the human resources and talent development functions of the resort in his new role, and will be instrumental in ensuring a strongly motivated team to achieve the resort’s strategic goals.

He looks forward to creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences, as well as nurturing an environment where all associates understand and embrace the connection between purpose and performance; which will in turn empower them to do their best.
