Male’, Maldives, 17th April 2024 – The tourism industry in the Maldives received a significant boost this month with the arrival of two opulent cruise liners, marking a testament to the growing popularity of the island nation as a premier cruise destination.

On April 14th, the majestic MS Artania gracefully docked in the bustling Malé harbor, heralding the arrival of 1,200 passengers and 530 crew members. Embarking from Colombo, Sri Lanka, the vessel is on a 143-day “Easter, Art” themed voyage, tracing its journey from Hamburg, Germany to Savona, Italy.

Following suit, the elegant Crystal Serenity is expected to make its grand entrance in Malé imminently. This luxurious liner, adorned with the flag of the Bahamas, is on a 142-day, round-trip “Easter” World Cruise, commencing and culminating in Miami, Florida. With a capacity to accommodate 740 passengers and accompanied by 655 crew members, Crystal Serenity will mark the eighth cruise ship to grace the azure waters of the Maldives this year alone.
