Mr. Jean-Louis, General Manager of Dusit Thani Maldives, expressed his delight at welcoming Jan Van de Voorde to the resort’s team, citing his extensive experience and passion for the industry as ideal qualities to lead the food and beverage department’s endeavors in providing exceptional experiences to guests.
With a background enriched by Michelin-starred restaurants in Belgium and the Netherlands, Chef Jan brings a wealth of expertise and creativity to his role. He will oversee the Culinary and Food and Beverage Departments, aiming to elevate the resort’s culinary offerings.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Dusit Thani Maldives, Chef Jan emphasized his commitment to enhancing the resort’s culinary experience by utilizing local ingredients and crafting innovative dishes that showcase the flavors of the Maldives.
Chef Jan’s career has been marked by a focus on delivering outstanding guest satisfaction, effective cost control, and meticulous hygiene management. His expertise extends to Nikkei cuisine, along with strong management skills in team leadership, decision-making, and budgeting.
Prior to his appointment at Dusit Thani Maldives, Chef Jan held executive chef positions at renowned establishments such as Centara Grand Beach Resort Krabi, Dhigali Maldives Resort, and Holiday Inn Resort Pattaya. During his tenure, he achieved notable success in reducing food costs, enhancing guest satisfaction scores, and introducing new culinary concepts.
A graduate of Ter Groene Poorte Hotel School in Bruges, Belgium, Chef Jan obtained his Bachelor’s in Hotel Management in 1992. Fluent in Dutch, French, and English, with basic proficiency in German and Thai, he is well-equipped to lead diverse culinary teams and cater to international guests.
